At HUNARMANDAN ہنرمنداں, we are proud to spotlight a groundbreaking research contribution that aligns with our mission to transform cultural heritage into economic opportunity. This pioneering study, led by Suraya Shahab, an esteemed member and active researcher affiliated with the HUNARMANDAN Centre and currently based at Iqra National University, Peshawar, dives deep into the socioeconomic challenges impacting traditional handicrafts in Chitral.

The “Voices of Heritage” project successfully completed a one-week intensive training program in Peshawar focused on traditional folk singing and storytelling. Conducted in collaboration with Dosti Welfare Organization, the project empowered women and youth from underserved communities by providing them with expert-led workshops aimed at preserving and revitalizing Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage.

As part of its ongoing commitment to ethical, inclusive, and rights-based entrepreneurship, HUNARMANDAN actively participated in the National Action Plan on Business and Human Rights (NAP-BHR) consultations held at Serena Hotel, Peshawar.
